Production Operator - Dairy (UDC)

At The Union Dairy Company, we are committed to providing a solid and secure dairy processing company that partners with local farmers to deliver quality Australian product throughout the world. The Union Dairy Company has an annual processing capacity of 300 million liters of raw milk and began production in 2017. Located in Penola, South Australia – the purpose-built plant provides a state-of-the-art factory and is the newest of its kind in the southern hemisphere.

We are currently seeking multiple suitably experienced applicants for the roles of Production Operator and of Senior Production Operator located in Penola, SA.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Operate a fully automated best in class milk processing facility making milk, cream, skim milk products

-Operate a best in class highly automated evaporator and spray dryer powder facility making nutritional dairy ingredients

-Operate a best-in-class automated packing and palletising line

-Assist in ensuring food safety and quality practices are maintained and support ongoing improvements toward food safety programs

-Maintain a computerised inventory management system

-Maintain accurate records.

-Maintain a clean and safe work environment using foaming machines, wet scrubbers, sweepers and manual cleaning tools

-Follow company food safety and quality policies.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

-Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment

-Experience operating evaporators and spray dryers will be highly regarded

-Strong communication skills

-High level attention to detail

-Excellent time management skills

-Ability to work effectively in a team environment

-Commitment to OHS and Food Safety Standards

-Current forklift license

Above award wages are paid and will be discussed at the time of interview.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000 AUD
