Butcher/Smallgoods maker

We are seeking an experienced Butcher / Smallgoods maker to join our team at The Mad Butcher PTY Ltd in Jandakot on a full-time basis.

About the Role:

As a Mad Butcher butcher/smallgoods maker you will be responsible for preparing, producing, and packaging a wide range of processed meats including sausages, salami, ham, bacon, and other specialty smallgoods.

Tasks & Duties:

• Prepare and process meat products including mincing, mixing, curing, smoking, cooking and drying.

• Operate meat processing equipment such as mincers, mixers, stuffers, slicers, and smokers.

• Follow recipes and product specifications to ensure consistency and quality.

• Monitor and record production data, temperatures, and curing times.

• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with food safety regulations and HACCP standards.

• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment to maintain hygiene and safety.

• Assist with inventory management, ordering, and receiving ingredients and packaging.

• Collaborate with the production team to meet daily and weekly production targets.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Skills and experience:

• Proven experience as a smallgoods maker, butcher, or meat processor (or willing to be trained).

• Knowledge of meat handling.

• Understanding of food safety standards and HACCP guidelines.

• Ability to work in cold environments and handle physical tasks, including lifting.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Strong attention to detail and quality.

• Trade qualifications (e.g., Certificate III in Meat Processing – Smallgoods) are desirable but not essential.

Salary from: $79,423 - $85,000 per annum

Position: Full Time
