At Southport Smash, we are looking for a full time (at least 38 hours per week) skilled Motor Mechanic (General) to perform the following duties:

Responsibilities

• Utilize diagnostic software and electronic scanning tools to identify malfunctions within vehicle systems and verify component performance.

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing, including fluid replacements, system lubrication, and calibration adjustments to maintain efficiency and meet emissions standards.

• Conduct performance evaluations by running engines and mechanical systems post-repair to confirm reliability and proper operation.

• Consult technical documentation and manufacturer guidelines while restoring or substituting damaged components within mechanical assemblies.

• Disassemble major vehicle units such as powertrains, gearboxes, and steering systems to inspect internal elements for wear or damage.

• Reconstruct and reinstall engine systems and related parts following completion of repairs or part replacements.

• Troubleshoot both electrical circuits and mechanical assemblies to determine the root causes of operational failures.

Requirements

• Relevant Qualification or 3 years of experience in lieu of the qualification.

• At least 1 year of experience in the relevant role.

• Professional approach.

• Ability to work under pressure.

• Organisational and time management skills.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Confident manner.

• Positive approach to change.

Position: Full Time (at least 38 hours per week)

Salary: $79,000 – 90,000 per year
