Automotive Electrician (Karratha, Newman or Port Hedland)

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an Auto Electrician to join our busy workshops in Perth, Newman, Karratha, and Port Hedland.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager you will diagnose, service and repair a wide range of light vehicles, buses, cranes, and large trucks. You will also be required to service air-conditioning systems. You’ll maintain a safe working environment at all times.

What a typical day in the workshop will look like:

Working on new and used equipment using test equipment to locate electrical faults

Trouble shooting and repairs of all types of equipment.

Dismantle and remove electrical and electronic assemblies and components

Install electrical equipment and electronic components in the above-mentioned fleet

Ensure accurate service reports, timely ordering of parts and standard operating procedures are followed

Connect power-operated accessories to vehicle power supply

Make adjustments to engine control systems and timing

Test and replace defective alternators, generators, starter motors and voltage regulators

Repair or replace faulty ignition and electrical components and wirring

Replace defective parts such as lamps, fuses and switches

Maintaining a high level of presentation standards.

On site trade test will be required before any offer of employment is made.

To be successful the following is required:

Trade qualified or equivalent

Strong English level required

Previous experience in a similar role for at least 5 years

Excellent communication skills

High attention to detail and able to work effectively and collaboratively with the team

Ability to meet strict deadlines

Be reliable, punctual & hardworking

Strong commitment to health and safety

Current C class Drivers License (MR or higher will be highly advantageous)

Ability to work in a team environment and positive work ethic

Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test

National Police Clearance (valid within 6 months)
