Position Overview:

Universal Concrete Construction Pty Ltd partners with builders, project managers and developers across Sydney, delivering specialist concrete construction services including formwork, steel fixing and reinforcement, concrete placement, architectural and decorative finishes, and complex structural works. The company focuses on careful coordination, dependable execution and consistent quality across projects.

As a Building Supervisor at Universal Concrete Construction Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating day-to-day site activities across structural concrete projects, including labour, subcontractors, materials, plant, safety, quality and construction sequencing. This position requires strong site leadership, technical understanding of concrete construction and the ability to coordinate works accurately against drawings, specifications and project programs.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Coordinate and schedule daily construction activities, including the delivery and availability of concrete, reinforcement, formwork materials, plant and equipment required for site works.

• Supervise and direct employees and subcontractors carrying out specialist formwork, steel fixing, reinforcement, concrete placement, finishing and associated structural concrete activities.

• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, work programs and relevant technical requirements to plan and sequence works for structural slabs, footings, stairs, retaining walls, columns and other concrete elements.

• Inspect site works and materials to verify compliance with project specifications, applicable building requirements, relevant standards and the company's quality expectations.

• Organise and coordinate labour, subcontractors, plant and material resources, monitor progress against project schedules and take action to address delays or site constraints.

• Implement and monitor site safety requirements, including inductions, Safe Work Method Statements, hazard controls and safe work practices for workers, subcontractors and visitors.

• Plan and oversee concrete pours and associated hold points, including formwork and reinforcement readiness, pre-pour checks, access, sequencing and quality documentation.

• Conduct regular site inspections and toolbox or coordination meetings, identify construction or quality issues and arrange timely corrective action.

• Maintain accurate site diaries, progress records, inspection documentation and other project records, and provide timely updates to project managers and other stakeholders.

• Liaise with builders, project managers, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors to resolve site issues, coordinate interfaces and support the efficient delivery of concrete construction works.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Relevant qualification.

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Building Supervisor

• Strong knowledge of building and concrete construction methods, including formwork, reinforcement and concrete placement.

• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and project schedules.

• Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements and safe site supervision practices.

• Strong leadership, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Salary:

The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000 - $85,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
