The Role:

Praxis is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment across industrial, mining, renewable energy and utility projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and review electrical systems, equipment and power distribution solutions for industrial and infrastructure projects.

• Interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications, standards and regulatory requirements.

• Determine the type and arrangement of circuits, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, cables and other electrical equipment.

• Prepare and review electrical designs, calculations, layouts, technical reports and project documentation.

• Support procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning of electrical components, equipment and systems.

• Establish delivery, installation and commissioning schedules for electrical machines, switchgear, cables and fittings.

• Supervise and coordinate the installation, operation and maintenance of electrical systems on project sites.

• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning activities.

• Ensure all electrical works comply with Australian standards, safety requirements, project specifications and company procedures.

• Liaise with clients, contractors, tradespeople, designers and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.

• Identify technical issues and provide practical engineering solutions to improve safety, reliability and performance.

• Maintain accurate engineering records, reports, drawings and commissioning documentation.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.

• Relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably within mining, utilities, renewable energy, industrial or construction environments.

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, switchgear, transformers, cabling and control systems.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications and standards.

• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication and project coordination skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with engineers, tradespeople, contractors and clients.
