About the role
Join our dedicated team at St John of God Midland Public Hospital and play a key role in creating a welcoming and professional first impression for patients, visitors, doctors and caregivers. As a Reception & Switchboard Officer, you will provide exceptional customer service while supporting the efficient operation of the hospital's reception and switchboard services.
Reporting to the Coordinator Administration Services, you will be responsible for delivering professional reception and switchboard services across the hospital. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to remain calm in a busy environment, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Key responsibilities
Providing a welcoming and professional reception service to patients, visitors and caregivers.
Operating the hospital switchboard and directing calls efficiently.
Responding to emergency calls and initiating emergency code procedures as required.
Coordinating paging services and contacting on-call medical staff.
Managing enquiries and resolving customer concerns in a courteous manner.
Maintaining accurate patient and contact information.
Monitoring security alarms and escalating issues in accordance with hospital procedures.
Supporting administrative functions and contributing to a positive team environment.
You are a customer-focused professional with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding service. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, remain organised under pressure, and can confidently manage competing priorities while working both independently and as part of a team.
You will bring demonstrated customer service experience, strong organisational skills, sound Microsoft Office knowledge, and a commitment to the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care. Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment will be highly regarded.

We can offer you
Casual hourly rate: $40.02 to $44.86 per hour (inclusive of casual loading), plus 12% superannuation
Serveral Casual opportunities available with shifts available across weekdays and weekends from 6:00am to 9:00pm.
